Still Paddling Scholarship continues with support of Join Adventures & New Zealand Kayak School:

This scholarship program has been a huge success with trainees pushing each other to the limits and showing tremendous potential.  We have now extended the scholarship and invited all trainees on paid internships with Paddle Nepal.

Thanks to the ongoing support of Laura Oakley from Join Adventures, we have just completed an amazing week of fully sponsored instruction by the New Zealand Kayak School!  NZKS instructors Jess Matheson and Soph Mulder came to Nepal and provided a 3 day Junior Kayak Training Program and an intensive 5 day Senior Kayak Instructors & Advanced Kayak Rescue Program.  Their passion for whitewater adventure was undeniable, and their outstanding instruction was well received by all participants.  The junior program focused on skill development and river awareness, which we hope will help them move confidently towards their careers on the river. The senior program pushed our more experienced guides to increase their knowledge and perspective so they can provide even better support to our whitewater adventure participants in Nepal.

A HUGE thank you goes out to Mick Hopkinson, owner and founder of the New Zealand Kayak School, for this tremendous contribution to whitewater adventure tourism in Nepal.  Mick and the New Zealand Kayak School Instructor Team have now offered a training position for a Join Adventures / Paddle Nepal instructor to join the school in New Zealand for continued training.  With these new skills and knowledge, they will return to Nepal and share with other local paddlers.  Join Adventures has selected Dipesh Gurung for this incredible opportunity staring January 2017.  Congratulations Dipesh!
