Our classic “kayak clinic” has been designed to get the first timer or beginner kayaker feeling comfortable and competent in whitewater in just 4 days. This can also be a great warm-up course for an intermediate paddler who is out of practice and wants to brush up on some fundamental skills.

Day 1 – The first day is spent on Phewa Lake in Pokhara enjoying spectacular views of the Annapurna Mountains while learning a variety of basic paddle strokes, braces, rescue techniques and the Eskimo roll. A simple picnic lunch will be provided on the beach before we paddle over to Barahi temple on the way back to the boathouse.

Day 2 – Our whitewater adventure begins 2 hours away on the Seti River – the warmest river in Nepal. Each day the Seti River becomes a little more challenging as the volume increases and the rapids grow in size – this is what makes it such a perfect location for our “kayak clinic”.

Today we will learn about river currents, eddies, holes and waves while our instructors show you how to cross the river, eddy-in and eddy-out and start paddling through current and mild rapids. Lunch will be prepared on the river half way through the day.

Tonight we camp on a remote riverbank with possible mountain views waiting for us in the morning. Camping gear, cooking equipment and fresh food for the duration of the river trip are provided, and our guides will prepare delicious Western and Nepalese dishes for you over the campfire.

Day 3 – Today we have a few fun and bumpy rapids where our instructors will lead you down the best lines and show you the best paddle strokes to navigate the escalating whitewater. Between these class 2/2+ rapids there is plenty of flat water to practice rolling and rescue techniques as well as some downtime to simply enjoy the beautiful scenery, wildlife and culture.

Tonight we set up camp on a white sandy beach with a local village nearby.

Day 4 – Our final day will put all of your new skills to the test as we challenge some exciting 2+/3 rapids before our whitewater adventure comes to an end near the confluence of the Trisuli and Seti Rivers, just outside of the Chitwan National Park. We will have a final Eskimo rolling test before lunch and good-byes. Onward transportation is included and our guides will assist you to your next destination – 30 minutes to Chitwan, 4 hours to Kathmandu or 3 hours back to Pokhara – the choice is yours.
